We set up A&E Construction four years ago after working for other construction agencies for five years.
We started out in a small office, with two desks, two phones and two computers. We wanted to build a team of workers who could be moulded into our way of thinking, focusing on working as a team rather than competing as individuals. Four years on A&E Construction has a successful team of 8 staff supplying quality trades and labour to over 150 clients on a nationwide basis.
We are both still actively involved with running the business and are available on call at all times.

Alison Ibbotson – Background
Founder & Operations Director
After qualifying to teach horse riding and gaining a BTEC National Diploma in Business and Finance, I went on to fulfil my dreams of working with show jumpers. However after a year of working on a pittance I decided to move into accountancy where I obtained my AAT.
After three years I decided I needed a new challenge so I joined a Bradford based recruitment agency as a resourcer. After a few months I became a consultant.
For the last two years I worked as the office manager overlooking a team of four staff.
After asking for a pay rise numerous times and getting no where, I decided to set up A&E Construction.

Ellie Reed – Background
Founder & Managing Director
Graduating from Sheffield University with an MSc Psychology 2.1, I joined a Bradford based recruitment agency as a resourcer.
I worked my way up the company to become a consultant, selling both out on site and over the phone.
I then joined a leading technical recruitment agency placing quantity surveyors and site managers within consultancies on a permanent basis.
I soon become a senior consultant working toward a section managers position. However after two years I decided I preferred the cut and thrust of the temporary labour market and so moved back to my original agency.
When asked to open a new office without a pay rise, I decided to set up A&E Construction
